Delete your account

Last updated 2 August 2026

You can delete your Vector Finance account and its data at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. This page explains both, what is removed, and what is kept.

1

Delete it in the app

The fastest route, and the one we'd recommend:

iPhone

  • Open Vector and tap your profile.
  • Scroll to Security and tap Delete Account.
  • Read what will happen, confirm with Face ID or an emailed code, then type DELETE.

Android

  • Open Vector and tap your profile.
  • Scroll to Security and tap Delete Account.
  • Read what will happen, confirm with your device biometrics or an emailed code, then type DELETE.
2

If you don't have the app

You never need to reinstall Vector to delete your account. Email privacy@v3ctor.app from the address your account uses, with the subject Delete my account.

We reply from a person, not a queue. If you write from a different address we will ask you to confirm ownership of the account address first — otherwise anyone who knew your email could delete your financial records.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes:

  • Your profile — email address, name, country, timezone and preferences.
  • Your sign-in credentials: every passkey, and every signed-in device session.
  • Every household where you are the only member, including all of its accounts, transactions, budgets and holdings.
  • Any bank connections, which are revoked with the provider, not merely forgotten by us.

Two things are deliberately kept, and it is worth understanding why:

  • Entries in households you shared. They are part of those households' accounting records — other people's financial history, not only yours — so they stay, with your name removed.
  • A record that a membership changed. Kept without your details, so the remaining members can see that something happened rather than finding a silent gap.
4

Shared households

Deleting your account never deletes a household that other people are still in.

If you are the only admin of a shared household, Vector promotes the longest-standing member to admin so the household — and everyone's records in it — carries on without you. You are shown which households this affects, and who will take over, before you confirm.

If you want a shared household deleted outright, delete the household first from inside the app, then delete your account. Those are deliberately separate acts: quitting the product should not be a way to destroy someone else's records.

How long it takes

WhenWhat happens
ImmediatelyYou are signed out on every device, your passkeys are deleted, and bank connections are revoked. Nobody in your households can see you any more.
Within 30 daysEverything above is permanently deleted from our live systems.
By email requestThe same 30-day outcome, starting from when we verify the request.

We email you when the deletion is scheduled, and again when it has completed. If you want it done sooner than 30 days, sign in and choose to start fresh, or ask us and we will run it immediately.

6

Changing your mind

For those 30 days the account is recoverable. Sign in with a link to your email address and you will be offered three choices: restore the account, start fresh with an empty one on the same address, or carry on with the deletion.

Restoring brings back your records, your households and your roles. It cannot bring back your passkeys — those were deleted the moment you confirmed, and a passkey cannot be recovered — so you will set up biometrics again.

After the 30 days there is nothing to restore. Signing up again with the same email gives you a genuinely new, empty account.
